Privacy Policy
short version, plain english.
This site is a small, independent podcast website. I try to collect as little as possible, store it securely, and use it only for what you signed up for. If anything here is unclear, just email me.
What I collect
- When you sign in: your email address. I send you a one-time link to that address to log you in (no passwords). I keep your email, the date you joined, and your email preferences.
- When you submit a question via “Ask a guest”: the text of your question, the sector you picked, and your optional guest preference. If you're signed in when you submit, the question is linked to your account.
- When you subscribe to the newsletter: just your email address.
What I don't collect
No phone numbers, no addresses, no payment info, no IDs. No advertising trackers, no analytics scripts, no Facebook pixel, nothing like that. Just standard hosting logs (IP addresses for security, kept short).
How I use it
- To send you sign-in links — the only way to log in.
- To send you a short email when a new episode drops, if you opted in.
- To read your questions and pick the best ones for the show (sometimes with help from AI to rank them).
- To run the site — hosting, error logs, debugging.
Who sees it
- Me. That's thesteponepodcast@gmail.com.
- The services I use to run the site, each of which only sees what they need to do their job:
- Vercel — hosts the site
- Neon — stores the database
- Resend — sends email
- Anthropic — runs the AI for the advice and lesson tools; receives the prompts you submit
I don't sell your data. I don't share it with marketers. I don't have ads. If that ever changes, I'd update this page and let everyone know first.
Your rights
- Unsubscribe from emails: click the unsubscribe link in any email, or sign in and toggle email updates off on your account page.
- Delete your account or data: email thesteponepodcast@gmail.com and I'll do it within 30 days.
- See what I have on you: same email. I'll send it back to you.
Cookies
One cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. No tracking cookies.
Children
The show is made for teens and young adults. If you're under 13, please don't create an account. If you're 13–18, you're exactly who this is for — but if you're unsure, loop in a parent.
Changes
If I change this policy, I'll update the “last updated” date at the top.
